Alma’s LDS Tours recommends you to visit Kirtland, a city of great importance in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The period (1831-1837) of the pioneers in this test was populated with many revelations to the Prophet Joseph Smith, but also full of persecution. In 1833, construction began on the first Mormon temple in Kirtland; he completed in 1836 and was dedicated in March of that year. The Temple was used beneficially for our church. Sunday services were offered, it was teaching people about the doctrine and evening meetings were organized quorum. It was a very sacred place. But the persecution forced the church members to leave Kirtland and leave everything behind. Although the Temple is no longer owned by our church, you may visit it through a tour.
At about 150 miles (240 km) southwest of Kirtland Temple is located in Columbus, was built in a wooded area, the finishes are of white marble. This temple was dedicated in 1999 by Gordon B. Hinckley. It has a total of 990 square meters of construction, has two rooms for ordinances and two sealing rooms marriage. It is visited by over 35,000 members.
