This holiday is celebrated on July 24th and was established to commemorate the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of LDS pioneers to the Valley. Salt Lake City celebrates with Fireworks and the “Days of ’47 parade”; Bountiful, Utah celebrates with Fireworks and a parade at “Handcart Days”; Spanish Fork, Utah, celebrates with “Fiesta Days”.

Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho and Canada also celebrate “Mormon Pioneer Day” on the closest weekend to July 24 with a parade, rodeo or fireworks and pioneer activities.
